Cool Momma was a horse, a very fine horse
a very fine horse was she
but she didn’t feel a part of, anything,
at Mandy & Me.
So she went out on a ride, one day
problem was she didn’t come back!
She thought she’d make, her own trail,
she‘d make her own tracks.
She was a good looking; lame legged, blue roan horse;
a good looking, lame legged, blue roan horse;
a good looking, lame legged, blue roan horse;
and Cool Mom, was her name!
It was Mother’s day, when we found out, it was a permanent tour;
It was not till Father’s day, that we could lure her
In the mean time, she crossed hill and dale, on trails she never had been
and thru a mighty swollen creek, she nearly had to swim!
She was a good looking, lame legged,peace seeking horse
a good looking lame legged, peace seeking horse,
a good looking lame legged peace seeking horse,
and Cool Mom was her name!
to a ranch one summer, our Cool Momma, ‘Mandy and Me’ did lend,
on return, one of her eyes, needed somebody to tend.
6 months of medication, did not allow it to heal,
so to a professional, horse eye doctor, we did appeal!
This picture is Lady Jane and Darby.. both very cool mares they kept eachother company the last year or so of their lives. Lady Jane had helped Darby after Darby had lost a lot of wait- they would go graze together and it was fun watching how much they grew attached. LadyJane, on the right, is the original Mandy of Mandy and Me.. it had started as Mandy and Me trailriding and babysitting- Mandy would look after a mare's foal that would let no other horse near her baby but Mandy. She had no foals of her own, but was leader of the horses of Mandy and Me for a while. Ironically, it was after spending a summer with Cool Momma at another riding place that Mandy would lose her leadership status and Cool Momma would ultimately lose her eye .. RIP ladies
well She was a good looking, non-limping, eye hurting horse
She was a good looking, blue roan, eye hurting horse
She was a good natured, blue roan, eye hurting horse
and Cool Mom, was her name!
Well, the verdict of the vet, wasn't very good,
but at least now we found out, exactly where we stood.
He diagnosed a tumor, got the eye out as soon as he could
all the cancer was gone, ...knock on wood! Now we say:
She was a one eyed, blue roan, cancer kicking horse;
She was a good looking, blue roan, peace seeking horse;
She was a good natured, blue roan, legend of a horse
and Cool Mom was her name.
yeah
She was a good looking, one eyed, cancer kicking horse;
She was a good looking, blue roan, peace seeking horse;
She was a good natured, blue roan, legend of a horse
and Cool Mom, Cool Mom, Cool Mom...was her name.
so many horses and people I could dedicate this song to. I will start with Lady Jane, Darby and Aima and show a video Aima made of Darby and Lady Jane coming back after some time grazing in the orchard. We would let them out, Lady Jane would lead Darby to go graze and they would come back to get water or in time for dinner. Often, one of them would open the door themselves (pretty sure it was Lady Jane that would open it for them both, but looks like i helped out here.
