“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.”

― Francois Auguste De Chateaubriand

I used to feel that I lived this way, and I aimed to be able to have others live as happy as i.  It was a way of life, not a job.   The feeling that Mandy and Me had made a positive difference to others via the trailriding business  and swapping stories/ times with the other fur, four legged and fowl friends made all the work worthwhile. I remember many a day being very tired but looking through the guest book comments would change it to being inspired to do it again.   To lose the place over some misunderstandings has been harder than any fall and I have had more than a few.   Living a life of service really is the best, but it is great if it can be fun and a way to feed and house the family whatever species they may be.  Might not always be, but a few stories and jokes can help heal and pass the troubled times.   Hoping they inspire or entertain you.   I am not a polished writer or rider, so consider this an advanced warning.

I’ve had ideas to put together a show of some sort and call it Original Okanagan Valley Nugget Narratives or double O V double N  (OOVNN) for short.   We shall see what we shall see, but another saying is “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars” by Oscar Wilde

My grandma Petterson, lived on the westside, she had a place that she called Rose Valley Trail Rides.   She told me of wild horses, while sitting in a char, she told them so well, it was almost as if, I was then and There

Ms Carney lived near what is now Ellison,  she is known for having a shotgun.  Seems that some surveyors wanted to move the boundaries of her land...  she met the men, with a weapon in her hand   (story goes,  the curve in highway 97 by the overpass near the airport is largely due to this)

Stories from the past can be fun for locals and visitors alike, do you have one?
